Nairobi's wildlife sanctuaries, two nights with the Maasai at Maji Moto Eco Camp and game drives in the Maasai Mara.
This safari balances wildlife with genuine cultural connection. It begins in Nairobi with visits to the elephant orphanage run by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Giraffe Centre, where you can feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes, followed by lunch at the Carnivore restaurant. You then spend two nights at Maji Moto Eco Camp in the Loita Hills, an eco-friendly camp where you join Maasai hosts for nature walks, warrior training, fire making and daily activities. The journey ends with game drives in the Maasai Mara, home to the Big Five and one of Africa's largest lion populations.
Ideal for: Travellers who want meaningful cultural experiences alongside wildlife, including families with older children and curious first-time visitors.
After a meet-and-greet and briefing, check in at the Ole Sereni Hotel. Visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage to see rescued elephant calves, then the Giraffe Centre to feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Lunch at the Carnivore restaurant, then return to the hotel for dinner and overnight (L, D).
Drive to Maji Moto Eco Camp, set on the Loita Hills overlooking the savannah deep in Maasai land and built in a simple, natural and eco-friendly way. After lunch, join nature walks and cultural activities such as warrior training and fire making. Dinner and overnight at Maji Moto Eco Camp (B, L, D).
Spend a full day with your Maasai hosts, learning about their traditions, daily life and relationship with the wildlife around them. All meals and overnight at Maji Moto Eco Camp (B, L, D).
Continue to the Maasai Mara, game viewing on the way to your camp for lunch. On the afternoon game drive look for the Big Five, black-maned lions, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at your camp (B, L, D).
After breakfast, game drive out of the reserve and return to Nairobi for your airport transfer (B).
