Fly from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara and stay at historic Keekorok Lodge, in the path of the Great Migration.
This flying safari takes you from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to the Maasai Mara in about an hour. You stay two nights at Keekorok Lodge, the first lodge in the reserve, opened in 1962 and ideally placed on the migration route in the south of the Mara. Days are spent on morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five, black-maned lions, cheetahs and, from July to October, the wildebeest migration. It is an easy, time-efficient way to experience the Mara in comfort.
Ideal for: Travellers short on time, families and older travellers who prefer to fly rather than drive to the Mara.
Pick-up from your hotel or the airport and transfer to Wilson Airport for the 10:00 flight, landing in the Mara around 11:00. A lodge representative meets you for a game drive to Keekorok Lodge for check-in and lunch. Afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five, zebras, giraffes, hyenas and hippos. All meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge (L, D).
A full day with two game drives in an ecosystem with one of the highest lion densities in the world and, in season, millions of migrating wildebeest, zebras and gazelles. All meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge (B, L, D).
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport, then on to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (B).
Accommodation: 2 nights at Keekorok Lodge, Maasai Mara.
