Our flagship itinerary combines the iconic wildlife areas of Kenya and Tanzania in a single journey. It begins in the Maasai Mara, crosses the border into Tanzania and continues to the endless plains of the Serengeti for two full days. You then experience Maasai culture on the way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, spend time with the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers at Lake Eyasi and finish with a game drive in Tarangire before ending in Arusha. Highlights include the Great Rift Valley, migration-season wildlife and two very different cultural encounters.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival, meet-and-greet and safari briefing, then drive to the Maasai Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Kenya's most famous reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Mara Sopa Lodge or Ashnil Mara Camp (L, D).
Morning and afternoon game drives, or a full day with picnic lunch. An optional Maasai village visit is available at extra cost. All meals and overnight at your lodge (B, L, D).
Leave early with packed lunches and cross the border at Isebania, where you continue your journey with our Tanzania team. Dinner and overnight at Speke Bay Resort (B, L, D).
Two full days of game drives on the Serengeti plains, famous for the annual migration and for lions, leopards and cheetahs. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge or Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B, L, D).
Game drive out of the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at a Maasai village to learn about their history, dances and food. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B, L, D).
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, more than 600 metres deep and around 19 km across, for a game drive with a picnic lunch. It is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. Dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Lodge in Karatu (B, L, D).
Travel to Lake Eyasi on the southern edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and spend the day with the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and the Datoga people, learning about their food, medicinal plants, homes and hunting. Dinner and overnight at Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp or Tindiga Tented Lodge (B, L, D).
Drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch. The Tarangire River draws large numbers of elephants and plains game, along with the predators that follow them. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge or Tarangire Sopa Lodge (B, L, D).
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for your onward journey or flight home (B).

This safari runs year-round. The Great Migration is usually in the Maasai Mara from July to October, while the dry months of January to February and June to October offer easy game viewing.
Our prices are based on a private safari vehicle for your group, with your own driver-guide. Shared departures may be possible on request.
