Meet-and-greet on arrival and transfer to a Nairobi hotel for the night (dinner not included).

Drive north to Samburu National Reserve, a wild and rugged landscape watered by the Uaso Nyiro River. After lunch, an afternoon game drive looks for leopards, lions, elephants, gerenuk, Grevy's zebras, reticulated giraffes and Beisa oryx. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (B, L, D).

A full day of morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu. All meals and overnight at your lodge (B, L, D).

Drive to Sweetwaters Tented Camp, a sheltered oasis clustered around a waterhole in its own private reserve, arriving for lunch. In the afternoon, game drive across the 110,000-acre conservancy, home to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and big game such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, oryx and eland. Dinner and overnight (B, L, D).

Travel to Lake Nakuru in the Rift Valley for lunch, then an afternoon game drive looking for black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, leopards, hippos and flamingos. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (B, L, D).

Drive to the Maasai Mara, arriving for lunch. The afternoon game drive brings your first encounters with the Big Five and the reserve's famous lions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (B, L, D).

Two full days of morning and afternoon game drives across the Mara, with its lion prides, cheetahs, hippos and, from July to October, the migration herds. All meals and overnights at your lodge (B, L, D).

Drive to Lake Naivasha for lunch, then visit Hell's Gate to see Fischer's Tower, the Central Tower, the Njorowa Gorge and natural steam vents rising from the volcanic rock. Dinner and overnight at your resort (B, L, D).

After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi for your airport transfer (B).
