Tsavo East's wide plains and a night at Salt Lick Safari Lodge in the Taita Hills, all in two days from the coast.
This two-day safari combines the vast open plains of Tsavo East with the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and a night at Salt Lick Safari Lodge, built on stilts above a waterhole. On day one you explore Tsavo East's elephants, Mudanda Rock, the Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls, then game drive into the Taita Hills. On day two an early-morning drive and a mid-morning game drive offer more chances to see lions, cheetahs, giraffes and elephants before you return to the coast. Please note that Salt Lick accepts children aged 5 and above.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Early pick-up and briefing, then drive to Tsavo East for game viewing among elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, crocodiles, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk and zebras, with views of Mudanda Rock, the Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls. After lunch, game drive en route to the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Salt Lick Safari Lodge (L, D).
An early game drive when animals are most active, then breakfast at the lodge. A mid-morning game drive looks for lions, cheetahs, giraffes and elephants, followed by lunch and the drive back to Mombasa (B, L).
Accommodation: 1 night at Salt Lick Safari Lodge or similar.

This safari runs year-round. The dry seasons (June to October and January to February) generally offer the easiest game viewing, while the green season brings lush scenery, newborn animals and fewer visitors.
Our prices are based on a private safari vehicle for your group, with your own driver-guide. Shared departures may be possible on request.
